Finding 1: The introduction of the 5- and 10-year ePassport is strongly supported. This stems from the popularity of the 10-year validity option, as well as the importance assigned to the need to follow international practices and stay at the fore of passport security.
If the NZ Government genuinely cared about democracy they should follow Canada's fine example and open passport validity up for public consultation. Shame on you Mr Chris Tremain for not having the courage to put this important matter to the public, and for continuing the NZ Governments tradition of debating passport validity behind closed doors. Chris what are you trying to hide from us this time?
